New Blog

Well, at last, after many hours investigation I managed to get my blog problem solved in that I have now imported all my posts, comments and photos from Google Blogger to Wordpress. (The original Blogger version is still showing an error message and there's no sign of a remedy at the moment). I did hear from one poor chap who had the same error code as me. His blog is 3 years old and he has over 1,000 messages.

My new Blog can now be viewed at:

http://dancingonabladeofgrass.wordpress.com/

Hope to see you there - would be delighted to get a message to show that it all works okay.

In a week or so, I shall make this blog invisible.

My First Blog Award

Thought I'd better put the following on my new Blog Lite as promised to Lace Threads

As a result of accepting the Award, I don't have to make a speech, but I do have to:-

Put this Logo on my Blog – (does that make it a Blogo?)
Done - see sidebar on right
Put a link/or mention Done
Nominate at least 7 other blogs
Difficult to choose as there are so many interesting ones - but for the moment I'll go with the following :-

A Different Era
Homespun Living
All Things Shabby Chic
23 Beech Hill
Country Bliss
Notes from the Frugal Trenches
Curlew Country

Link those Blogs
Links to all these blogs on the righthand sidebar.
Leave a message on their blog Done

A Patient Wait

So, now I have to patiently wait to see whether Blogger will restore my former blog ...... I'm not known for my patience!

However, in the meantime, I've the "Dummies Guide to Google Blogger" written by Peter Chen, who has been able to advise me ... thank you Peter for replying so quickly.

So many people use Google Blogger - I wonder whether anyone else has had such problems? Do I sit it out? I've sent an error report AND an e-mail. Will it be resolved? Do I use TypePad instead?

I've so many things I want to write about, it's frustrating to be "on hold".

My new award !

OK - so for this tiny little temporary (hopefully) blog it seems a little OTT but I can assure you there really was much more on the main blog. I just wanted to put the award here as I haven't used it yet!

Thanks again Lace!

Is this Temporary?

For some reason, my main blog keeps coming up with an error message. This cropped up when I tried to add a blog to my blogroll - hopefully it will be fixed - but if not, then I will have to re-do everything, which is terribly frustrating!

I am assured that this error will right itself, but, in the meantime, thank you Lace Threads for my blogger award! I did all that you asked, posted the award, made sure I had the links, posted the comments, etc, etc, but it all got LOST! Aargh!!!!

Anyway, for the time being I shall maintain this temporary blog - if all else fails then it's over to Typepad for me!

Fingers crossed.......

Adelaide and Glastonbury

On Wednesday we were visited by a lovely couple from Adelaide. We had never met them before! The wonders of the internet. D went to the same primary school as I did in Luton many, many years ago. She lived around the corner from me and knew of the parade of shops where we had a toy/bicycle shop BUT until last Wednesday I had never met her! We have corresponded since "meeting" on-line after a query she had posted about Stopsley. Since then I've enjoyed her long letters, describing life in Oz. A couple of years ago, when we were in Adelaide, we stood outside the University of South Australia to watch the Christmas Parade - we learnt that her husband worked in that building. Anyway, D and D, if you're reading this on your return home, thank you for taking time out of your hectic schedule to pop in - it was a delight to meet you.

Yesterday we took daughter and an old school friend to Glastonbury. It's a route we know very well - but not under the security and fortification mode of yesterday. We were able, amidst the protestations of heavy looking security blokes, to drop the girls and all their gear off near the entrance. By now, the girls should have got a "used" look to their shiny new wellies.
